Cambodia and World Bank Celebrate Over Three Decades of Fruitful Bilateral Cooperation

Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia, Dr. Sar Sokha, met with World Bank Country Manager for Cambodia, Ms. Maryam Salim, to discuss their ongoing partnership. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the collaboration spanning over three decades, highlighting its positive impact on the country's development.

The meeting underscored the World Bank's significant contributions to various sectors in Cambodia, including education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, land management, and water resources. Minister Dr. Sar Sokha specifically acknowledged the support for projects in social accountability, nutrition, and waste management, which directly involved the Ministry of Interior.

Both Ms. Salim and Minister Dr. Sokha applauded the successful collaboration on joint initiatives, including improving livelihoods of the poor, promoting social accountability, and enhancing solid waste and plastic waste management. Ms. Salim praised the Ministry of Interior's leadership in these projects, while both parties expressed optimism for even greater results in the future.

The discussion further explored potential new initiatives on education, social welfare, and administrative reforms, aiming to decentralize and enhance government efficiency. Additionally, they reviewed ongoing projects to ensure their successful completion.
